Charles Kelly (g.av.a.) was born 1942 in Barrhead, Glasgow and now lives in Ayrshire.
Charles is one of Scotlands' most accomplished Artists. He began his career as a professional footballer with Scotland and Chelsea Football Club and then pursued an Engineering profession as a Design Draughtsman, and this discipline formed the basis of his artistic development.
To date more than seventy of Charles' paintings have been published which is confirmation of his continued success.
One of his more famous paintings, ' The Immortal Memory ' is his personal tribute to Robert Burns. This painting is sold worldwide and has been presented to many ' Burns ' orators. A Signed Limited Edition Print proudly hangs in Burns Cottage, Ayr, which is the birth place of Robert Burns.
Another of his paintings, ' Land o' Burns ' was auctioned for charity and raised the magnificent sum of £12,000.
His golf paintings are also in demand and several of his ' Ailsa Course Turnberry ' prints have been countersigned by golfer Colin Montgomerie. Many of his Ayrshire painting's grace the walls of the prestige suites at the nearby Westin Turnberry resort.
Charles paints in both traditional and colourist style and his contemporary collection is truly a celebration of light and colour. He has had many successful one-man exhibitions in Scotland and England and several of his paintings were used by Ayrshire and Arran Tourist Board in London to promote ' Burns Country ' and the West of Scotland.
Charles' natural talent enables him to paint a diverse range of subjects in a variety of mediums. Many of his paintings are in private collections worldwide. His work was permanently on display at his gallery in Ayr.
